CHATSwire (and now, CHATSpeak)

Welcome to CHATSwire, centre of the gnome universe. Experts, leap in ... others, read more below the chat box. We include here interactive, up-to-the-minute world news and SMAshing poetry in case you get bored with the idle banter.

Well met, fine fellows!   Noo Yoik     GMT/UTC      London      Your place    Hong Kong      Sydney

IMPORTANT - you must have a "java-enabled" browser (no, don't pour coffee over your keyboard) to see stuff on this page and to use the SMA's "CHATSwire" box. See our legendary Site Map  for more compuwaffle.

CHATSwire is a free forum within which SMA members can chat as a group in real time, wherever they might be in the world. If you've arrived here, you're already in it.

Enter your name where indicated and press "Change". To add your comments to the downward spiral of conversation, hit "Submit" (or "Enter") after doing the two-finger tango.

The timing of 2000 GMT Mondays is intended to be vaguely convenient to those in UK (being a quiet night), The Americas (happy hour), The Middle East (night cap time), The Far East (they're working, they should get up early) and Australia/NZ (first of the day). Monday UK is Tuesday for some, of course. If this timing doesn't suit, we'll change it. Having said that, you can access this SMA "chat room" to meet friends at any prearranged time. Cool, n'est ce pas? Do make the effort to join CHATSwire regularly. Feel free to e-mail DarkMoment@swiremariners.com with any questions and to remind him if the clocks are wrong. This marvel of technology is created, incidentally, by the web wizards at www.homestead.com. Check them out.

Note: Roger Wilco, a.k.a. CHATSpeak and available on your left, is primarily used for live ATC and pilot to pilot communications in our unique SMA flight simulator section. Makes a change from gardening ...

Click here to go to www.rogerwilco.com. The software is free, is about a 335KB download and is easy to configure
