A computer screen shot, reduced from full screen, of one of the latest Cathay Pacific aircraft under development for Microsoft Flight Simulator FS2004. Recognise her? Who else, but "Betsy", Cathay's founding aircraft! She'll be available soon, for FS2004 and, later, FSX.
A few years ago we uploaded to the SMA website an exploratory 'flight simulator' page for members' possible amusement. It featured a limited number of Cathay Pacific aircraft, modelled by hobbyists, that could be imported into the widely available flight simulator software manufactured by the omnipotent, omnipresent Microsoft Corporation.
Well, we've gone a little beyond that. On the pages linked below, you'll find the finest collection of Cathay aircraft to be found anywhere for computer simulation with the exception, perhaps, of CPA's own training simulators; but, you won't find 'Betsy', a Catalina, Convair or Tristar on any of theirs, whereas we've got the lot.
These aircraft, which can be configured with accurate panels and sound and 'flown' on your home computer, have realistic liveries and flight dynamics and are modelled for four flight simulator versions: FSX, FS2004, FS2002 and FS2000. You'll need one of these for most downloads to be of any use to you. That said, all the pages themselves are of some interest, in that most historical Cathay Pacific aircraft are illustrated and you'll find a number of references to good old Kai Tak.

The latest offerings are add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator X. It's early days yet, but expect to see plenty of action in this exciting new version, released October 2006.

These offerings are add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004. Dozens of aircraft, scenery enhancements and other goodies for the simulator!

The most prolific listings are add-ons for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2002. This page is full of good and grabbable things. The page may take a little time to load as there are lots of pretty piccies: sorry!

Our original 'flightsim' page: downloads you'll find there are intended for use in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2000. You can also rake through some useful stuff about the legendary Kai Tak airport and its colourful history.

Nothing to do with Cathay Pacific at all (apart from their British heritage) but so what, they're fun. They're also at the RAF's own Red Arrows site.

We include this link also as you'll find "Betsy" here in many different guises. Most of her non-CX liveries can be viewed/downloaded from here.

Since our CX simulator pages were first developed, a couple of ship sims have come on the market which are worth a mention - have a look at Ship Simulator and Virtual Sailor, for which a CNCo vessel is a possibility - but, development generally is not as prolific or as sophisticated as the aircraft sims.
Have fun with this "uplifting" section of the SMA site. Oh and Graeme, here's your Avro Vulcan in flightsim ...
